Research Systems serves the needs of the UAMS research community by building custom applications, connecting systems to share data, advising researchers about technology and software, building powerful reporting dashboards and more.
Software Solutions and Systems Integration
Our team:
- Manages research data by securing storage, organizing and sharing research data in compliance with standards such as HIPAA and GCP
- Builds custom software and interactive dashboards to centralize data and support researchers’ unique analytic needs
- Integrates mission-critical systems such as CTMS, Epic, Muse and Workday to streamline operational workflows
- Automates research processes to reduce administrative burden and eliminate duplicate data entry
- Develops APIs and integrations that connect custom, vendor and legacy systems for seamless data sharing, reporting and compliance
Consultation and Support Services
Our other services for researchers include:
- Advising on custom software solutions, selecting technology for research projects, IT infrastructure and optimizing research systems
- Ensuring software solutions align with regulatory and compliance standards, including 21 CFR Part 11 and NCI/NIH guidelines
- Ongoing support, such as helping with the adoption of new tools, troubleshooting and long-term support
- Visualizing and reporting data by creating interactive dashboards and analytics to help researchers interpret complex datasets
How to Request Our Services
Most requests for our services start with a call to the IT Help Desk or ServiceNow. They are available 24 x 7.
- Report a Problem to the IT Help Desk through ServiceNow.

- Use the Research Programs Access Request form to request access to UAMS Research Programs Applications.
- For Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) access, the CIRC Service Request page and information about Flight Tracker for Scholars, see the REDCap access portal in ServiceNow.
