Enterprise Communications

We ensure that voice and data communications flow into, through and out of UAMS reliably and securely. We design, build and maintain communications systems and infrastructure to achieve that goal.

Enterprise Communications

Our three teams handle everything that involves voice and data communications at UAMS. For example, we:

  • Install, set up and support hardware and software for voice, instant messaging and email communications
  • Design, install and support network equipment for voice and data at UAMS properties statewide
  • Manage projects that install or rebuild low-voltage voice and data communications at UAMS across Arkansas, including budget, planning and design work
Unified Communications
Unified Communications

We install, configure and manage servers, phones and software that govern critical communications channels at UAMS, including voice communications. Examples include:

  • Voice and fax over internet protocol
  • Servers that handle email at UAMS
  • Teams and SharePoint
  • West-Com nurse call systems and the Vocera system for hands-free communications

Our services include:

  • Requests for new phones (and changes or removal), voicemail, call center agents
  • Setting up managing email, RightFax, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Vocera call groups and programming
  • Voice menus and call center queues
  • New voice circuits, TVs, nurse call systems
  • Installing and maintaining voice infrastructure network on UAMS properties across the state

Network Engineering
Network Engineering

Our team takes care of network data routers, switches, data circuits and servers that keep information at UAMS flowing. We install, configure and manage hardware, ethernet ports, software and protocols that govern how data is transmitted, ensuring reliable and secure communications across local and wide-area networks across the state.

Examples include:

  • Install, change and support remote data ports and wi-fi for computers, medical devices and other equipment that connects to the UAMS network
  • Handle specialty VPN connections for vendor or cloud services
  • Design, install and maintain critical data network infrastructure on campus and at data centers and remote locations statewide

Low-voltage Project Management
Low-voltage Project Management

We are responsible for project management over low-voltage voice and data communication infrastructure for new construction and rebuild projects at UAMS locations across Arkansas. We oversee budgeting, design, standards and vendor installation of infrastructure used in voice and data communications.
