SAVE THIS DATE!!!  The 2009 Welcome the Children Celebrating Cultural Harmony - Professional Development Institute will be held November 18 - 20, 2009 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Little Rock, Arkansas.  Look for additional information coming soon!  Our conferences have previously been held in May but we have moved it to the fall this year to accommodate scheduling conflicts.  Also, note the new location. We think you will be pleased. This will be our fourth annual two and one-half day professional development event on working with children and families from diverse cultures.

In case you missed it, please check out the 2008 Conference program to view the type sessions you may expect.

We hope to see you in 2009!!  If you have any questions about the event, please contact Brenda Reynolds at reynoldsbrendak@uams.edu.

Can't wait until next November to hear great presentations on culture?  Then don't miss our one-day professional development institute at the Ferndale 4-H Center, December 5, 2008, from 8:00 - 4:30.  Exploring the American Mosaic - Understanding Race and Cultural Identity will highlight presentations from Tiffany Pettus and Terry Richard, Ph.D. on the interconnectedness of cultural and ethnic groups in America and how we have reached this point in history.  These insightful presentations will provide information to help you better understand your own culture and your connections to those around you.  Check this website frequently or contact Brenda Reynolds at reynoldsbrendak@uams.edu for registration information.  Registration is only $75 and includes lunch.  Seating is limited to the first 100 people to register.   Download Information and Registration Form
