Community Training Teams
» Ongoing Project Support for Community Teams
The Project Trainer and Project Coordinator work with the Community Team members, through their team leaders, to assist them in conducting Welcome the Children training sessions. The support provided will initially be more direct, "hands-on," with a gradual reduction to "technical assistance only" during the project period. Support involves the following:
- The Project Trainer will co-train with the lead trainer in each area the first time they present each of the two modules.
- The second time the modules are presented in each area, the Project Trainer will attend the session to observe, provide feedback and assist if needed. At this time, a written trainer assessment will be completed to review the trainer(s) and session. Verbal feedback will be provided immediately following the session, with a written review mailed later.
- Following the first two presentations of each module, the Project Trainer will provide technical assistance as needed, but not necessarily attend the sessions.
- The community trainers will receive assistance from others on their team as needed, based on the type participants. However, to streamline the process, all direct support provided to the community teams will be arranged through their team leader.
- Each team leader will be presented with a complete set of the trainers' materials at the train-the-trainer session. To ensure consistency and support copying expenses that would otherwise be incurred by the community teams, project staff will provide all participants' manuals. The manuals will be provided as sessions are scheduled. Manuals may be requested using the Community Training Team Request Form.
- Community trainers will be responsible for scheduling accessible training rooms and providing any refreshments for sessions they present.
- Project funds will be provided to community training teams at the rate of $10 per person trained on each (full day) module. This is to offset their cost of conducting the training sessions. In addition, $100 (per each full module trained) is available when needed to assist with the cost of providing lunch and refreshments for the training sessions. Documentation required for each training participant will be the completed post-tests, session evaluation forms, and a copy of the sign-in sheet from the training session.
