Prostate Cancer
CHAARTED: ChemoHormonal Therapy versus Androgen Ablation Randomized Trial for Extensive Disease in Prostate Cancer (CTSU E3805)
Treatment: docetaxel, androgen ablation
Brief Eligibility Criteria:
· Histologically or cytologically confirmed prostate cancer
· Extensive metastatic disease (visceral or bone)
· On androgen deprivation therapy for less than 90 days
Prostate Cancer
A Randomized Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase III Study of Early Versus Standard Zoledronic Acid to Prevent Skeletal Related Events in Men with Prostate Cancer Metastatic to Bone (CTSU 90202)
Treatment: zoledronic acid
Brief Eligibility Criteria:
· Histologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the prostate
· At least 1 bone metastasis by bone scan, MRI, CT scan, or plain radiographs
· Concurrent androgen deprivation therapy required, defined as any of the following:
o Bilateral orchiectomy
o Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist with or without an antiandrogen
Prostate Cancer
A Randomized Double-Blinded Placebo Controlled Phase III Trial Comparing Docetaxel and Prednisone With and Without Bevacizumab (IND #7921, NSC #704865) In Men With Hormone Refratory Prostate Cancer (CTSU 90401)
Treatment: docetaxel, prednisone, bevacizumab
Brief Eligibility Criteria:
· Histologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the prostate
· Meets 1 of the following criteria:
o Measurable disease with any level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA)
o Nonmeasurable disease AND PSA ≥ 5 ng/mL
· Progressive systemic disease (since the most recent change in therapy) despite castrate levels of testosterone due to orchiectomy or luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist therapy
Prostate Cancer
Randomized, Open Label Multi-Center Study of XRP6258 in Combination With Prednisone Compared to Mitoxantrone in Combination With Prednisone For The Treatment of Hormone Refractory Metastatic Prostate Cancer Previously Treated With A Taxotere®-Containing Regimen
Treatment: XRP6258 or mitoxantrone
Brief Eligibility Criteria:
· Histologically or cytologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the prostate.
· Documented progression of disease (demonstrating at least one visceral or soft tissue metastatic lesion, including a new lesion). Patients with non-measurable disease must have documented rising PSA levels or appearance of new lesion.
· Surgical or hormone-induced castration
Prostate Cancer
Randomized Phase III Study of Neo-Adjuvant Docetaxel and Androgen Deprivation Prior to Radical Prostatectomy Versus Immediate Radical Prostatectomy in Patients With High-Risk, Clinically Localized Prostate Cancer
· Histologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the prostate

o No radiographic evidence of metastatic disease
· Serum prostate-specific antigen level ≤ 100 ng/mL within the past 6 weeks
· High-risk disease
o Probability of biochemical progression-free survival at 5 years after surgery < 60% by Kattan nomogram prediction
