LITTLE ROCK — More than 140 stores in central Arkansas and more than 60 stores in northwest Arkansas will offer discounts on their merchandise Oct. 25 through Nov. 2 as part of Partners Card, a fundraising project of the volunteer auxiliary of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).  Proceeds benefit cancer patients in Arkansas.

This is the fifth year for the Cancer Institute to offer Partners Card in central Arkansas and the third year in the northwest part of the state.

For nine days, shoppers who purchase the $50 cards will receive a 20 percent discount at dozens of area stores. All proceeds from the sale of the Partners Cards will go to the Cancer Institute’s volunteer auxiliary to fund projects that directly benefit cancer patients. The auxiliary provides information, services, compassion and hope to those touched by cancer.

“Shoppers who purchase a card receive a generous discount on items such as furniture, gifts and clothes. Plus, they are supporting a great cause by helping Arkansas cancer patients,” said Betty Landrum, Partners Card chairman.

Shoppers will be able to save on everything from the latest fashions for the whole family to antiques, home furnishings, fresh flowers, gift items, jewelry, outdoor gear, children’s toys and more.
