LITTLE ROCK – Bijay Nair, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as an assistant professor in its Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy.

Nair will see patients primarily in the Myeloma Institute’s outpatient clinic.

He received his medical degree from the University of Kerala in India and completed his residency in internal medicine at UAMS. Nair also completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at UAMS, and holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota.

UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with five colleges, a graduate school, a medical center, six centers of excellence and a statewide network of regional centers. UAMS has 2,538 students and 733 medical residents. Its centers of excellence include the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy, the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute, the Psychiatric Research Institute and the Donald W.
