OCT. 31, 2003 | About 125 students in the Medical Academy at Cabot High School visited the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Oct. 29 for hands-on lessons about health careers.

The students’ tour was sponsored by Partners in Behavioral Health Sciences, a program of the Department of Psychiatry in the UAMS College of Medicine.

Teacher Brenda Early of Cabot High escorted the group, which observed demonstrations of emergency medicine, respiratory care, and surgical technology and heard presentations on careers in behavioral health care.

 Students from North Little Rock High School – East Campus also visited UAMS, while students in Viola, Green County, Swifton, Van Buren, Springdale, and Camden, Ark., and from four high schools in the Bronx, New York, attended the presentations via interactive video.
