UAMS Online: A New Look for UAMS Home Page

DEC. 1, 2000 | The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences today launches a news service, "UAMS Today," on the home page of its web site.

This service will give news about UAMS higher visibility on the web site and provide an inviting new portal for visitors from on and off the campus.

"We encourage all of UAMS’s friends and supporters to bookmark the UAMS home page and visit us often," C. Gwin Morris, PH.D., C.F.R.E., vice chancellor for institutional advancement, said.

UAMS Today will contain news for employees and students, articles about fundraising, weekly reports of new research grants, and a comprehensive calendar of events on the campus. It also will include occasional links to news articles on other sites, including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Donrey News, and Arkansas Business.

A makeover of the UAMS home page was part of the implementation of UAMS Today.

Elizabeth F. Shores, M.A.P.H., director of development communications in the Division of Institutional Advancement, directed implementation of the UAMS Today project. Tracy Dorathy of the Office of University Relations designed the new home page. The Office of University Relations, UAMS Media Services, and the UAMS Web Site Advisory Committee provided assistance on the project.
