The Photo Acoustic technique based on detection of laser−induced acoustic waves provides greater sensitivity and spatial resolution in deeper tissue compared to the other optical modalities. In vivo multicolor flow cytometry, negative and positive PA contrasts integrated with focused ultrasound has potential for dynamic study of various clots directly in the bloodstream of superficial microvessels associated with different diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disorder, cancer metastasis, or infection) and their treatment (e.g., stents, implants, drugs) which otherwise could not be detected with existing techniques.

The present invention is a method of in vivo flow cytometry with negative photo acoustic contrast for noninvasive, continuous, real−time detection of circulating clots. The Photo Acoustic technique based on detection of laser−induced acoustic waves provides greater sensitivity and spatial resolution in deeper tissue compared to the other optical modalities. In vivo multicolor flow cytometry, negative and positive PA contrasts integrated with focused ultrasound has potential for dynamic study of various clots directly in the bloodstream of superficial microvessels associated with different diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disorder, cancer metastasis, or infection) and their treatment (e.g., stents, implants, drugs) which otherwise could not be detected with existing techniques.

| DEC. 13, 2001 | The College of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will sponsor its second annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Thurs., April 18, 2002, at Greystone’s Cypress Creek Golf Course in Cabot.
The college’s first tournament featured 18 teams and raised more than $15,000 for endowed student scholarships.

| The college’s Tournament Committee hopes to build on the success of the first golf tournament and increase participation enough to offer morning and afternoon tee times. Increased participation and sponsorships will translate into more money for student scholarships.
Participants will be treated to lunch at the golf course, and prizes will be awarded for the top 3 places. There also will be prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, and hole-in-one.
