These segments explore access to health care in the rural South.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is participating in a program to improve the health status in residents of the rural South. Called the Southern Rural Access Program, the program started in 1999 with a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Kate Stewart, M.D., M.P.H, associate director in the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, and four other representatives of the project discuss the program.
