Forum to Discuss Impact of HIPAA on Research


JUNE 10, 2003 | Everyone involved in human subject research at UAMS is invited to forums June 12 and June 16 about the impact the new HIPAA requirements are expected to have on human research.

The UAMS Office of Research Compliance will hold the forums in two locations:

Thurs., June 12
3:00-3:50 p.m.
Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging,
Room G-190

Mon., June 16
2:00-2:50 p.m.
Education Building III
Room G-228

HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Tim Atkinson of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will speak at the forums, which meet the HIPAA for Research training requirement and is mandatory for researchers and staff involved in human subjects research.
