OCT. 4, 2001 | The Radiology Department of University Hospital of Arkansas recently participated in a University Healthsystem Consortium Imaging Benchmarking Project to identify the better performing organizations in key areas of radiology service.

The project included 48 university teaching hospitals across the country. The consortium examined the following key indicators at each hospital: cost effectiveness, customer satisfaction, turnaround time, scheduling, labor and supply costs, higher percent of “filmless” imaging, and utilization process.

“To be selected as one of the top three performers in Radiology by the University Healthsystem Consortium, our department is one of the leaders among teaching hospitals in providing quality and cost-effective radiology services. This is due to the strong relationships with referring physicians, clinical services, and hospital administration. Our dedicated, technical, nursing, and clerical staff deserve recognition for achieving this top three status,” Marvin Stricklin, administrative/technical director of radiology, said.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Medical of Georgia were also selected as “Better Performing Organizations.”

University Hospital of Arkansas is a part of UAMS Medical Center.
