Aug. 28 Is Deadline to Join UAMS/ACRC Race for the Cure® Team

The design for the 2003 UAMS/ACRC Race for the Cure® t-shirt is causing a sensation!

Designer Lynn Bell of UAMS Media Services designed the shirt, which has a colorful scene of walkers and runners. The shirts, along with the official Little Rock Race for the Cure® t-shirts, are complementary with registration in the Oct. 4 event. The deadline for joining the UAMS/ACRC team is Aug. 28 and the registration fee is just $20.

Some of UAMS’ leading advocates for breast cancer research took a turn at the wheel last week to show their support for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

[4]  J.L. Mehta, M.D., Ph.D., Receives Prestigious International Research Award

Jawahar L. Mehta, M.D., Ph.D., director of cardiology at UAMS, has received the prestigious Albrecht Fleckenstein Memorial Award for identifying a specific gene associated with heart attacks.

[5]  Warren Kids First Celebrates Ten Years

UAMS Kids First in Warren celebrated its tenth anniversary with an "All Class Reunion" with games and refreshments Aug. 7 for all present and former Kids First children and their families.
