UAMS Surgeon Elected to American Orthopaedic Association, LITTLE ROCK – Richard W. Nicholas, M.D., a professor in the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Pathology in the College of Medicine and director of clinical services for the Arkansas Cancer Research Center (ACRC) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), has been inducted into the exclusive American Orthopaedic Association. Nicholas’ specialties are musculoskeletal oncology and limb salvage. To be selected for membership in the association, a candidate must demonstrate leadership in the orthopaedic community, make significant contributions to the field of orthopaedics, and be certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or be a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Orthopaedic Surgery.
