DEC. 18, 2000 | A new portal for information about health care in Arkansas is now online thanks to work by the UAMS Library.

Arkansas Health Link, the Arkansas Consumer Health Information Network (ARCHIN), is a joint project of the UAMS Library and other libraries and health organizations in the state. The site includes links to health care services in Arkansas as well as many other health information Internet sites.

The project began in 1998 with support from the National Library of Medicine. The ARCHIN steering committee includes representatives of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, the Arkansas Department of Health, the Arkansas State Library, the Central Arkansas Library System, the Mississippi County (Arkansas) Library System, the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Ottenheimer Library, and the UAMS Library.
