LITTLE ROCK – The History of Medicine Associates, an auxiliary of the Historical Research Center in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Library, will award a $1,000 research grant this summer. The deadline for proposals is May 31. The winning applicant will be notified in June. The associates offer the annual award, which can be used for any research-related expenses, to support research on the history of the health sciences in Arkansas. There is no required application form. Applicants should submit an abstract (100 words), statement of significance, summary (1-2 pages), detailed budget, anticipated completion date, and brief resume or curriculum vitae to Margaret Johnson, Treasurer, History of Medicine Associates, UAMS Library, 4301 W. The Medical Education Foundation for Arkansas of the Arkansas Medical Society has provided partial funding for the awards.
