Diana Lynn Woods, Ph.D., is the first John A. Hartford Foundation scholar to join the College of Nursing at UAMS. As the first post-doctoral scholar in the college, she will conduct research funded by the foundation, which recently established a Geriatric Center for Nursing Excellence (GCNE) at UAMS with funds from an earlier grant.

NOV. 1, 2001 | Four key supporters of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and their guests heard about the university’s recent advances at a Chancellor’s Circle luncheon on the campus yesterday.
Buzz Crafton of Blytheville, Dan Felton of Marianna, Judy Snowden of Little Rock, and Bronson Van Wyck of Tuckerman were hosts at a luncheon in the University of Arkansas board room on the UAMS campus.
Their guests included J. Leslie Wyatt, Ph.D., president of Arkansas State University (ASU) in Jonesboro; Arkansas Public Service Commissioner Betty C. Dickey; Reynie Rutledge of Searcy, chairman of First Security Bank; Walter and Sally Sedelow, Dick and Gina Herget, Doris Underwood, and Elizabeth Blankenship, all of Heber Springs; and Robert Evans, vice president for governmental affairs of ASU.
Chancellor I. Dodd Wilson, M.D.; Sherrel F. Johnson, interim vice chancellor for institutional advancement; and Sue S. Williamson, C.F.R.E., director of donor development, also attended. Chancellor Wilson briefed the board members and their guests on current activities at UAMS.
Luncheons for UAMS Foundation Fund board members and their guests are a tradition of the UAMS Chancellor’s Circle, a giving society.
