AUGUST 4, 2003 | The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Mixed Bowling League will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. at the Distribution Center Conference Room to discuss the upcoming season.

The league will begin a new season Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a new home –  the new Millennium Bowl in
North Little Rock.

The league has an opening for one new team, and is actively recruiting individual bowlers to fill out other teams. League members must be UAMS faculty, staff, students, spouses or close family members, or UAMS retirees. Teams may be men, women or both. Bowlers with averages under 200 are given a handicap to keep the league competitive. Virtually every area of UAMS is represented in the more than 30-year old league.

The league will run 30 weeks with two weeks off for the winter holidays. Trophies will be awarded at a league picnic in the spring for team and individual achievements.

The cost to participate is $7.00 per week. Newcomers must also pay a one-time fee to join the national association, unless they already belong from participation in another league. Contact Carl Iannacone, director of Campus Material Management and president of the league at 686-5933 for more information.
