Preventing Premature Birth Will Be Focus of UAMS Conference Feb. 19-20

LITTLE ROCK – For the 20th year in a row, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host a conference on pregnancy and newborn care for health care professionals Feb. 19-20, with an expert on preventing premature birth as the keynote speaker. Brian M. Mercer, M.D., director of maternal-fetal medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, will give the keynote address, “Symptoms, Diagnosis and Prevention of Prematurity,” Feb. 19 at the conference at the Peabody hotel. The Arkansas chapter of the March of Dimes will sponsor his presentation. Continuing education credits will be available for physicians and nurses.
