Certain sports injuries, including rotator cuff injuries, are increasing as more persons continue weightlifting at older ages. Knee ligament injuries among women athletes are nearly epidemic. Another surprise: the foot is the most overlooked part of the body by recreational athletes.

Jack Vander Schilden, M.D., says the most difficult part of the body to train is the brain because weekend athletes often fail to consider their age and condition when they undertake a sport or exercise program. He will discuss these trends and other injuries associated with exercise.
