Delbra Caradine, M.D.
Dec. 18, 2000 | Friends of the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging are giving this holiday season to an old-fashioned program: house calls!
The center's House Call Program provides routine medical services to homebound geriatric patients who live in a 30-mile radius of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Delbra Caradine, M.D., is medical director of the program.
The House Call Program extends the continuum of care for patients who are unable to visit a doctor's office. The House Call physician can be the patient's primary care doctor or work with a patient's established physician. The House Call doctor can coordinate care between families, nursing agencies, and home health services.
The House Call Program will help identify new medical problems earlier so that referrals can be made in a timely manner. It will enhance the patient's ability to live independently and delay or eliminate the need for nursing home care.
Gifts for the House Call Program will support current operating expenses. The Center on Aging will recognize all donors to the program in a future newsletter.
To donate, mail a check, payable to UAMS Foundation Fund, to:
UAMS Center on Aging 4301 W. Markham Slot 748 Little Rock, AR 72205
Note “CoA House Call” on the check.
Supporters also may donate online using UAMS's secure online donation form. Type “CoA House Call” in the blank for “Other” on the form.
