Students in the College of Medicine and their families will gather tomorrow and Saturday for the college’s Family Weekend.

Scholarship donors and recipients will be the focus at the college’s 14th annual Scholarship Banquet tomorrow night. The banquet will be at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock.

The college will present several endowed scholarships for the first time, including the Arkansas Community Health and Education Foundation Scholarship, the Northeast Arkansas Clinic Charitable Foundation Scholarship, the Northeast Arkansas Clinic Harry J. Jordan Scholarship, and the New Parents Club Scholarships.

The college also will present dozens of already established scholarships to students. Many of the donors who endowed the scholarships will be present. Approximately 600 students, family members, and scholarship donors will attend. The College of Medicine and the Arkansas Caduceus Club are sponsors of the banquet.

Freshmen medical students will guide their parents on tours of the campus Saturday morning.

Linda Worley, M.D., and Jay Menna, Ph.D., will explain “Surviving Medical School: Tips for Students and Parents” in a morning panel discussion. Afterwards, the Parents Club will have a luncheon on campus.
