Changes to Microsoft Class Schedules at Clinical Computer Training Center
Changes to Microsoft Class Schedules at Clinical Computer Training Center

Home

Due to the need to concentrate on providing training for the clinical areas of the hospital, the Clinical Computer Training Center will be significantly altering the schedule of Microsoft and Adobe classes, effective January 1, 2006.  We will continue to offer the six basic classes intended to help clinical personnel learn to use computer systems in order to perform their duties.  Those six classes are:

  • Windows XP Level 1
  • Windows XP Level 2
  • Outlook email
  • Word Basics
  • Excel Basics
  • PowerPoint

These six classes will be offered at a rate of one per week, so that each class recurs every six weeks. Class days and times will vary. Classes are intended for employees in the Clinical Programs division, but other areas could send an employee if they submit an IDT for $30 prior to class.

The following classes will no longer be offered on the regular schedule:

  • Access Forms
  • Access Queries
  • Access Reports
  • Access Tables
  • Excel Advanced Formulas
  • Excel Charts
  • Excel Formulas
  • FrontPage 1
  • FrontPage 2
  • FrontPage 3
  • FrontPage Workshop
  • Outlook Calendar
  • PhotoShop 1
  • PhotoShop 2
  • PhotoShop 3
  • PowerPoint 2
  • Word Forms and Templates
  • Word Graphics
  • Word Merging
  • Word Tables and Columns
  • Word Advanced Document Composition

If a department finds it is necessary to have employees trained in one of the above classes, we can arrange for the class to occur for that department at a cost of thirty dollars per participant, with a minimum enrollment/cost of five participants. To schedule one of the above classes after Jan. 1, please call 686-8966.

These alterations to the class schedule are necessary to allow us to prepare for and perform additional training in the new outpatient registration and scheduling software, as well as the new physician order entry and charting software.

The IT Department has online training resources available at no charge. The Online-Expert system provides computer based training that can be completed at your own computer and on your own schedule. For more information, please visit the IT department’s intranet Web site and click on the link for the Computer Based Training Library.
