Seminar Series
The UAMS
Alzheimer’s Disease Center Seminar Series,
held at 12:00 noon on the second Tuesday of
each month, is open to the public, researchers
and university faculty, healthcare professionals,
and students. The UAMS Alzheimer‘s Disease Center,
the Donald W. Reynolds Department of Geriatrics,
and the Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services
sponsor the series. There is no charge and you
do not need to register in advance. Parking
is available in the Outpatient Parking Deck
(entrance at W. Capitol and Cedar Streets) and
your parking ticket will be validated at the
seminar. Box lunches will be provided for the
first 60 attendees. There is no charge for admission.

Outlook Series
The
Senior Outlook Series, sponsored by the UAMS
Reynolds Senior Health Center, is
a series of multi-disciplinary, free half-day
seminars for older adults and interested family
members. The seminars consist of various health
topics. Each seminar includes presentations
from a Geriatrician, an Advanced-Practice Nurse,
Pharmacist, Dietitian and Social Worker. Seminars
are held in the
Donald
W.
Reynolds
Center
on Aging on the
UAMS
Medical
Center
campus. Seminars are typically held on the first
Friday of each month from
9:00
a.m.
to
12:00
noon.
Family members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments
and parking are provided.

AARP
Driver Safety Program
Two
AARP Driver Safety Program classes will be held
in April.
The course helps drivers refine existing
skills and develop safe, defensive-driving techniques.
AARP members and non-members alike may take
the course. There are no tests. Upon successfully
completing the course, graduates of AARP Driver
Safety Program may be eligible to receive up
to a 10 % discount on their auto insurance premiums.
The
following class will be held on Tuesday/Wednesday
from
9:00 am to
1:00 pm
each day.
The
following evening class will be held on Monday/Tuesday
from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The
classes will be held in B 2 Conference Room.
Parking for participants is in the Hospital
Parking Deck. Parking will be validated.
Cost is $10 per person for the two half-day
classes.

SeniorNet
Offers Hands-on Classes
The
nonprofit SeniorNet provides adults 50 and older
access to and education about computer technology
and the Internet to enhance their lives and
enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom.
Computer training classes are held in
Donald
W.
Reynolds
Center
on Aging on the UAMS campus. Individual
workstations are provided with nearly one-on-one
instruction. You can learn basic computer usage,
word-processing, e mailing, and "surfing"
the World Wide Web including the web sites of
the
UAMS and the Reynolds
Center
on Aging. If you are already computer-literate
and would like to assist in teaching, SeniorNet
is always looking for volunteer coaches. Visit

for in-dept information on many subjects of
interests to older adults. To
