Photo Album: G. Richard Smith, M.D., Honored for Founding Arkansas Center for Health Improvement

JULY 24, 2003 | The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) honored its founding director, G. Richard Smith, M.D., July 15 at a reception in Little Rock.

Dr. Smith is the Marie Wilson Howells Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the UAMS College of Medicine and founding director of the center, which is jointly operated by UAMS, the Arkansas Department of Health, and Arkansas Blue Cross, Blue Shield.

Joseph Thompson, M.D., M.P.H., recently became the second director of the center.
