Class of 1948 Dedicates Endowment to Excellence in Education

JULY 14, 2003 | The Class of 1948 recently dedicated its endowment to a new initiative, Excellence in Education, in the College of Medicine . The class agreed during a June reunion in Little Rock to redirect the income from its endowment to the new program of Dean E. Albert Reece, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A.

"This is a wonderful gesture by the Class of 1948. I have long believed that undesignated endowments are a critical strategy that alumni and other donors can use to target their contributions to the most important needs of medical schools," Dean Reece commented.

The College of Medicine also will accept gifts from other groups and individuals for its Endowment for Excellence in Education.
