UAMS to Sponsor Childhood Obesity Conference
Sept. 4 - 5

JULY 10, 2003 | The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will sponsor a conference on childhood obesity Thursday, Sept. 4, and Friday, Sept. 5.

Kids First, a program of the Department of Pediatrics in the UAMS College of Medicine, will hold the conference at the Statehouse
Convention Center in Little Rock. The conference will be open to health care professionals, teachers, parents, child care workers and the general public. Continuing education units for the conference will be available to physicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, teachers and dietary managers. Certificates of attendance will be provided.

Registration fees are $55 per person to attend one day of the conference and $85 per person to attend both days, if registration is completed by Friday, Aug. 15. After Aug. 15, fees will be $80 for one day and $100 for both days. Students can attend one day for $25 and both days for $35. The registration fee includes educational materials, access to special exhibits, refreshments, lunch on Sept. 4 and breakfast on Sept. 5.
