M.D., Receives Prestigious Pathology Award
|
The list of previous
winners of the Evans Award, dating back to
1972, is a “Who’s Who” in the field of
pathology, including chairmen of pathology
departments at Yale, Cornell, the
University of Southern California, the
University of California-San Diego, the
University of Washington-Seattle, and the
University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Fink has been professor and
vice chairman of the
Department of Pathology in the
UAMS College of Medicine since 1988 and
has been a member of ACLPS for 22 years.
He was president of the academy in
1999-2000, served five years on the
organization’s Academic Council, and in
1991 hosted the national meeting in Little
Rock.
While at UAMS, Fink helped develop and
patent the Veniscope, a device that uses
infrared light to locate blood vessels
underneath skin. The development is the
basis for IRV, Inc., a client company of
UAMS BioVentures. |
