Center Supporters Take the Cooks Tour
MAY 2, 2003 | The annual Arkansas
Cancer Research Center (ACRC) Auxiliary Cooks Tour was
popular, as always, with supporters of the cancer center at
the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The event was a success for the auxiliary, which raised enough
to fulfill its 2003 pledge of $50,000 for the UAMS Family Home
and ACRC Auxiliary Cancer Support Center. The auxiliary has
pledged a total of $200,000 for the home, with the funds
coming from annual Cooks Tour proceeds.
Friends of ACRC gathered at the home of Heather and Warren
Overton in Little Rock for a silent auction and a buffet in
honor of Ralph Sanderson, Ph.D. April 25. Dr. Sanderson is a
professor in the Departments of
Pathology and Anatomy
and Neurobiology in the College of Medicine and director
of basic research at ACRC.
They also traveled from house to house April 27 on the Cooks
Tour of Homes , which included four homes in the Prospect
Terrace neighborhood of Little Rock. Jackie and Gerald
Johnson, Anne Hickman, Belinda and Robert Shults and Claudia
and Heartsill Ragon opened their homes for the tour. At each
home, the executive chef from one of the Little Rock’s
best-known restaurants prepared dishes for visitors to taste.
