Founders Society Elects Officers at Annual Dinner

Society of the College
of Medicine of the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences (UAMS) met Nov. 7 to elect new officers.
The society’s members, many of them alumni, have each
contributed to significant endowments in the college.
Endowments are funds that generate annual income for use by
different research, educational, or patient care programs in
the college.
The society reelected the following officers to serve
additional terms: J. Larry Lawson, M.D., of Paragould,
president; Rickey Medlock, M.D., of Little Rock, vice
president; Janet Honeycutt, executive director of the Arkansas
Caduceus Club, secretary; L. Milton Hughes, M.D., of Pine
Bluff, alumni representative; J. Floyd Kyser, M.D., of Little
Rock, alumni representative; Joe Stallings, M.D., of
Jonesboro, corporate representative; C. Winston Brown, M.D.,
of Little Rock, faculty representative, and Bill Patton of
Little Rock.
Charlotte A. Hobbs, M.D., Ph.D., and John L. Dornhoffer, M.D.,
of the college faculty reported to the society on their
research on birth defects and hearing, respectively.
