Here’s to
Your Health: Breast Cancer

3, 2002 | Breast cancer, the most common form of cancer
in women, will be the topic on "Here’s To Your
Health" Oct. 7-11.
Mortality rates are now miniscule among women whose
breast cancer is diagnosed in its early stages. Suzanne
Klimberg, M.D., is director of the Breast
Cancer Program in the Arkansas Cancer
Research Center (ACRC) at the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences (UAMS). She will discuss advances of
the last few years in detecting and treating a disease
that once required radical surgery for most cases.
The new director of clinical breast imaging at UAMS,
Robert Fincher, M.D., also will appear on the program to
talk about the wave of the future in breast radiology, digital
mammography. UAMS Medical Center is the only
facility in central Arkansas that offers digital
mammography.
