UAMS Endocrinologist Receives Pfizer Scholars Award

JULY 3, 2002 | An endocrinologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has received one of the first awards in the Pfizer Scholars in Endocrinology Grant Program.

Neda Rasouli, M.D., received the award from Pfizer Inc.

Debra L. Simmons, M.D., assistant professor of medicine and director of the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Subspecialty Training Program, nominated Dr. Rasouli for the award. The award honors "this outstanding physician for important contributions to research and patient care in endocrinology." Dr. Rasouli recently completed her training and plans to join the faculty to continue her investigation of the basic pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes.

The Division of Endocrinology is part of the UAMS College of Medicine.
