9, 2002 | Members of the first graduating class of the College
of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences (UAMS) were reunited at a dinner May 4 in
Little Rock.
Thirteen members of the class traveled from as far as
Shreveport, La., and Irving and Wichita Falls, Texas,
for the dinner. The class members and their spouses and
guests enjoyed looking at a display of historic
photographs.
Dean Larry D. Milne, Ph.D., presided over the evening of
story-telling and jokes. He presented each member of the
class with a commemorative paperweight bearing the
college’s seal.
The class has established the Class of 1952 Scholarship
in the college. It also has placed a commemorative
plaque at the intersection of 17th Street and
Lewis in Little Rock, the college’s first location.
”We’re already looking forward to celebrating
another golden anniversary with the Class of 1953 next
year,” Dean Milne said this week.
