“We
particularly want to acknowledge and reward the task and gift of
mentoring junior faculty and students at all levels because it
is such a vital and necessary function to ensure faculty success
and productivity in business and academia,” she said.
The WFDC is an organization for women in the College of
Medicine, including “women
of leadership, junior women, and women of color.” Forty-six
women attended the recent meeting to meet new faculty, network,
catch up on WFDC committee work, and witness the presentation of
the second annual Outstanding Woman Faculty award.
Linda L. Worley, M.D., associate professor of psychiatry
and president of the caucus, gave a slide presentation, “Women
Pioneers,” about past and WFDC leadership. She also presented
past presidents with a framed group picture, related
accomplishments of the past year and goals for the coming year
and gave tips on finding balance in a life where you, “can’t
have it all.”
