Suzanne W. Yee, M.D., a board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and director of the UAMS Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center, will explain “Turning Back the Hands of Time with Cosmetic Surgery” and answer questions in the program, part of the UAMS Medical Center Health Matters Educational Seminar Series.

The seminar will be 10 a.m. - noon in the Arkansas Cancer Research Center’s Walton Auditorium on the UAMS campus. (See map.)

Dr. Yee will discuss FotoFacial
TM – a series of full-face treatments using intense pulsed light to treat a variety of facial skin imperfections safely, effectively and with very little discomfort to patients.  She also will discuss the latest advances in other cosmetic procedures, including endoscopic eyebrow lift; blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery); face lift; nose surgery; breast augmentation; and body liposuction.

Sandra M. Johnson, M.D., a UAMS Medical Center dermatologist, will present “Maximizing your Appearance with Skin Care” during the same program.  Participants will learn about the different skin types and the best skin care regimen for each; guidelines for buying skin care products; ways to reverse skin damage; and chemical peels.

Dermatologist Nancye K. McCowan, M.D., of UAMS Medical Center, will present “Making Unsightly Leg Veins Disappear,” focusing on the use of sclerotherapy and laser therapy to treat this common problem.

Following the presentations, audience members will have the opportunity to ask these medical experts questions and to participate in door prize drawings.  Seating for this seminar is limited. To make reservations, call 501-526-6200 or send an e-mail to www.seminars@uams.edu.
