MAY 31, 2001 | The Medical
Foundation for Arkansas (MEFA) is the latest
contributor to a fund for family medicine
education at the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences (UAMS).
The foundation recently made a gift of $5,000 to
the James R. Weber, M.D., Endowment for Family
Medicine Residency Education. The endowment
honors the memory of Dr. Weber, an associate
clinical professor in the Department of Family
and Community Medicine in the UAMS College of
Medicine.
The fund will enable the department to strengthen
residency training in procedures such as
endoscopy, colonscopy, culposcopy, and many minor
surgical procedures, as well as practice
management.
