Dr. Wilkerson is the Senor Associate Dean
for Medical Education at UCLA School of medicine. She is a Professor of
Medicine with active research projects in problem-based learning,
ambulatory teaching, and nutrition education, and serves as program
Director for the UCLA Fellowship in Medical Education. Since 1980, Dr.
Wilkerson has assisted faculty members in the study and improvement of
medical education in a variety of settings with a special interest in
ambulatory teaching and problem-based learning. She served as Director
of Faculty Development at Harvard from 1984 to 1992 when she started her
tenure at UCLA. Dr. Wilkerson has conducted faculty development
workshops locally, nationally, and internationally and has been an
active leader in the AAMC Group on Educational Affairs.
