Michael Ainsworth is Associate Dean for Regional Medical
Education and Director
of Clinical Assessment and Professional Development at UTMB School of
Medicine.
His responsibilities for student development include direction of the
Integrated Curriculum Evaluation Exercise, which is the student’s Year 4
interdisciplinary summative clinical skills examination, and coordination of
the school’s Professionalism Project, which emphasizes student development
in professional behavior
skills.
Karen Szauter has a split appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine
and the Office of Educational Development at the University of Texas Medical
Branch. Her clinical work is through the Division of Gastroenterology. She
is the Medical Director of the Standardized Patient Program. Her interests
include the use of simulation in teaching and assessment and the teaching
and evaluation of professionalism.
