of self-directed learning and describing the activities of the self-directed learner with
Dr. Stritter, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the facilitation of the
self-directed learners.

Dr. Frank T. Stritter has specialized in Educational
Psychology and Higher Education at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for
over 30 years. As a staff member of the Office of Educational Development and a professor
in the School of Medicine and OED, he has organized and taught in faculty development
programs for medical, dental, pharmacy, and allied health faculty and preceptors. Director
of one of the three Centers for Research in Medical Education in the U.S. from 1994 to
1997, Dr. Stritter is active in the American Educational Research Association, the
Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the Association of American Medical
Colleges.
