Dr. Nora, President and Dean of the Northeastern
Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM), received her medical
degree from Rush Medical College, Chicago, her law degree from the
University of Chicago, and a master's in business administration from
the University of Kentucky. A neurologist with subspecialty
certification in electrodiagnostic medicine and fellowship training in
clinical medical ethics, she has received awards and honors that
include the Pillsbury Fellowship Award, the
American Medical Women's Award, the University
of Kentucky Abraham Flexner Master Educator Award, and inclusion in
the Kellogg National Leadership Program. She has recently been
appointed a member of the AAMC's Institute for Improvement in Medical
Education Dean's Visioning Group and will talk about her experiences
in providing a blueprint or vision for the institute's agenda for
medical education. Dr. Nora will also discuss the principles of the
book, Good to Great, by a colleague, Jim
Collins, because it provides a leadership
framework for what education leaders need to consider.
