Dr. Debra DaRosa is a Professor of Surgery and Medical
Education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She began
her academic career in surgical education in 1980 and has dedicated the
majority of that time developing and delivering faculty development
programs, pursuing educational research and consulting with departments of
surgery and professional organizations. She is on the editorial boards of
surgery and medical education journals, is a former President of the
Association for Surgical Education, and in 2001 became the recipient of the
Distinguished Educator Award from that same organization. She has published
numerous papers and book chapters, and has presented her research, keynote
addresses, and faculty development programs at regional, national and
international forums.
Dr. DaRosa feels one of her major missions in life is
to inspire and empower physicians to be the best educators they can be,
helping them discover, and in some cases, rediscover the true joys of
teaching.
