Who Really Teaches?
Significant efforts are made to ensure that
individual faculty have the requisite skills to be proficient teachers. Yet there is
evidence that individual teaching skills may not be the most significant factor in
determining the quality of an educational experience. Uncovering those "other
factors" will be the goal of this lecture.

Workshop - "Developing the Potential of All Teachers"
Dr. Stephen Bogdewic is Professor and Vice
Chair of the Department of Family Medicine, and Assistant Dean for Primary Care Education,
Indiana University School of Medicine. Before coming to Indiana University in 1991, he
directed a national faculty development fellowship program a the University of North
Carolina. Dr. Bogdewic received his Ph.D. in Adult and Higher Learning
from the University of North Carolina in 1987. He is an immediate
past-president of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and also
the recipient of the Society’s 2000 Excellence in Education Award. His
scholarly interests include professional development, leadership
development, clinical teaching skills and quality improvement.
