Teaching Scholars Lecture Series

Addeane S. Caelleigh, MA

“Publishing
– The Final Step in Research”

Publishing is not an adjunct activity for researchers; something done after the research is finished. Yet many think the research process ends when the data is analyzed and understood, or when the research is “written up.” It is true to say, however, that the research does not exist, might as well never have been conducted, unless the study results are published in an accessible venue and format. Publishing, therefore, is the final step in research. The lecture will consider the journal publishing system as it affects health professionals and will offer tips that help to increase success in publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
