College of Nursing
Implemented and maintains a recycling program at COPH and ED-II.
Property Services
Oversees and maintains a cardboard recycling program for the UAMS campus.
College of Health Related Professions
Initial site for a campus recycling program. CHRP has done an outstanding job with their recycling efforts and has shown great support for UAMS Sustainability.
UAMS Car Seat Program
Removes fabric and belts on the old and used car seats to recycle the plastic, as they are changed out with new seats through UAMS Child Safety Car Seat Program.
Cancer Institute
Recycled non-confidential paper as the offices prepared to move out of the old wing and into the new Cancer Center Expansion. Many floors and areas have participated in paper recycling during their move.
Occupational Health and Safety
OHS has done an outstanding job with UAMS's chemical management program and disposal. Our sustainability assessment of UAMS utilized "The Green Guide for Healthcare" and UAMS met all the available credits for the Chemical Management section.
Renal Dialysis
Renal Dialysis has championed and implemented recycling. In the first month they have recycled approximately 350 pounds of plastics from their unit.
Campus Operations IT
Campus Operations IT designed and build the Sustainability Pledge and the Pledge Results page. They did a great job. Thank you Campus Operations IT.
Kids First - Morrilton
Kids First in Morrilton is doing a great job with reusing, reducing, and recycling. They are reusing paper and various other containers for note pads and various storage containers. Not only do they recycle paper, aluminum, steel, plastic, and cardboard, they have also gotten their neighbors, the local ambulance service, involved with the recycling as well.
UAMS Library
The UAMS Library has taken on recycling with containers to collect white paper, mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics. This a great role model for the Campus.
Psychiatric Research Institute
PRI has taken part of our new paper recycling program for their entire building. PRI has both white and mixed paper recycling bins on floors 1 through 6.

The following departments are taking part in our paper recycling program: Alumni Affairs, Clinical Engineering, Clinical Research (4D)Design and Construction, Engineering and Operations, Gastroenterology (Shorey), JEI - floors 2 and 6, Orthopedic Research, OHS, Out-Patient Pharmacy, Pathology (Shorey), and PRI.
