Who is Eligible?

1.  Students who are enrolled full-time in an eligible program as a regular degree-seeking student are eligible for grants and loans.  Students who are enrolled at least half-time have loan eligibility and prorated grant eligibility.  Less-than-half-time students have prorated grant eligibility only.  

          Full-time status:  12 or more credit hours

          3/4-time status:  9 to 11 credit hours

          Half-time status:  6 to 8 credit hours

          1/4-time status:  3 to 5 credit hours

          Less-than-1/4-time: 1-2 credit hours

The above credit hour classifications apply to each Fall, Spring, and Summer term.  Keep in mind, each individual student has a different set of circumstances that define financial aid eligibility.

2.  Students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizen:

          (1) a U.S. permanent resident with a Permanent Resident Card (I-551).

          (2) a conditional permanent resident (I-551C).

(3) the holder of an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from the Department of Homeland Security showing one of the following designations:  "Refugee," "Asylum Granted," "Parolee," or "Cuban-Haitian Entrant." 

3.  Students who are not in default on a Federal Perkins loan, Federal Stafford loan, Federal PLUS loan, or Federal SLS loan; and must not be more than 90 days delinquent in repaying a consolidated loan.

4.  Students who do not owe a refund on a Federal Pell Grant or a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG).
