Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The Center combines the resources of
the University Hospital, Arkansas Children's Hospital, the Arkansas Cancer
Research Center, the Outpatient Center, the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye
Institute, the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging, and a number of other
associated clinics to offer a wide range of medical expertise.
UAMS Medical Center is committed to providing a skull base treatment center with the best inpatient care and training for skull base surgery.
To those ends, in 1993, the Center for Skull Base Surgery was instituted under the direction of Ossama Al-Mefty, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery, and James Y. Suen, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology. Both surgeons are world-renowned for their expertise in skull base surgery and the treatment of head and neck tumors respectively.
