The Revenue Integrity Specialist Team (RIST) provides support and educational services in a collaborative environment to assure a seamless revenue cycle for healthcare recipients and providers.

THe GUIDE TO PATieNT ACCESS EDUCATION The following courses are offered by the RIST Team: Pathways Healthcare Scheduling (PHS) Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Revenue Cycle Management Financial Aspects of Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management Refresher Pathways Healthcare Scheduling (PHS) is a new comprehensive scheduling system designed to meet the appointment scheduling needs of UAMS by helping access staff efficiently schedule patient appointments and other required resources.  The system allows users to manage appointments with the advantage of Windows functionality such as: toolbars, menu bars, tabs, right mouse button functionality, and drag-and-drop scheduling.  Pathways Healthcare Scheduling can recognize schedule conflicts and available times using color coding, and access information using tabbed windows.  This program will accommodate patients, optimize resources, and speed work flow throughout our facility.    Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is a comprehensive education program for patient access and claims management staff at UAMS. The classes are facilitated by the Revenue Integrity Specialist Team (RIST) and mandatory for all patient access personnel. RCM Financial Aspects (or “RCM Day 4”) is designed for Patient Access personnel whose duties include insurance verification,  pre-certification/preauthorization, and/or financial counseling. RCM Days 1-3 is a prerequisite. This course will be offered once a quarter on a Friday. RCM Refresher is a course designed for Patient Access personnel who have registration experience but need to brush up on their skills. 2007-2008 S.T.A.R. of the Year Troy Sunkins Troy Sunkins of Radiology was selected as the 2007-2008 STAR of the Year at the 6th Annual STAR Luncheon held on April 1, 2008.  Troy received an excellent recommendation from his supervisor, David Amerson.  David had these nice things to share about Troy, “As a person that has worked with many employees over 26 years I have seen and experienced every type of personality.  The goal of a manager is to always work with employees to complete all job duties and to teach the needed skills for the area where they work.  But there is one thing you can’t teach an employee and that is the ability to “care”.  Not to steal any thunder from the CARTI commercials about I will be there for you, that is Troy Sunkins, he will be there for you, he will hug you, he will get you a blanket, and when you leave he will send with you that feeling he truly cares for you.  There are many people I have known, but Troy will always be a special person to me.  He is dedicated, hard working, and always willing to help in any situation.  Troy truly represents the type of person you would always want to see when you are afraid, in pain, and feel alone, ask anyone that knows him; they will always smile when you mention his name.”  Congratulations Troy, our shining STAR of the Year!     January RIST In-Service Materials:    MD LINK   Basefront & Tips to Prevent Duplicate Accounts   February RIST In-Service Materials:   Registration and Scheduling Tips
