Speech-Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology program offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services to adults (18 years or older) with communication impairments, and to those with voice and swallowing difficulties. Our licensed speech pathologists have extensive training and expertise for the specialized services they provide.

  • Voice evaluation and treatment - videostroboscopic examination of vocal cords and computerized speech lab analysis *
  • Behavioral and Botox treatment for spasmodic dysphonia*
  • Head and neck cancer surgery rehabilitation
  • Evaluation and treatment of cognitive-communication disorders related to neurogenic causes, including dementia, aphasia, and cognitive deficits associated with right hemisphere brain damage and traumatic head injury
  • Evaluation and treatment of motor speech disorders, including dysarthria and apraxia of speech
  • Evaluation and treatment of tracheostomized and ventilator-dependent patients

*The departments of Speech Pathology and Otolaryngology have established a Voice and Swallowing Center with a dedicated clinic, open on Wednesdays and Fridays.
