Arkansas Children's Hospital Interventional Radiology Team
Arkansas Children's Hospital physicians Mary Beth Moore and Charles James have
obtained interventional radiology training following a year of pediatric
radiology fellowship. In addition, collaboration with a full team of
interventional radiologists based at the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences has provided a greater scope to this growing service by providing more
timely pediatric introduction of techniques devised in adult patients. Two
specialty nurses Pam Kuhn, RNP, and Karen Stovall, RN, provide excellent
support for initial patient evaluation, post-procedural recovery, and long-term
follow-up. The current pediatric radiology fellow Sadaf Bhutta is currently
being trained to assist in performance of these services.
Research
In addition to clinical care, Interventional Radiology has represented Arkansas
Children's Hospital at numerous national and international meetings in the past
several years. Research interests include congenital vascular lesions,
percutaneous cecostomy for fecal incontinence, percutaneous urinary tract stone
removal, and venous interventions (PICC and venous thrombolysis).
ACH Interventional Radiology anticipates continued growth, innovation, and
development of this service, which should benefit children within and well
beyond the state of Arkansas.
Physicians
